In brief
- Read the unit before the rate. Two constructed teams worked through Gearset, Hutte and FlowSprite AI price clauses, with the arithmetic shown.
Each number in Salesforce DevOps pricing is attached to a unit, and the unit decides what the bill grows with. Gearset charges per Gearset user, then adds clauses priced per Salesforce user or per contributor. Hutte charges per user plus per project. FlowSprite AI charges a flat monthly price with user and connection thresholds. In the two constructed teams below, the flat clause moved least as headcount and projects grew, though its threshold step (EUR 99 to EUR 199 at an 11th user or seventh connection) costs more than one added Hutte Core seat at EUR 75. That holds only without backup or error monitoring from the same vendor.
What the clauses in Salesforce DevOps pricing say
According to the vendor's page, read 1 Oct 2026, Gearset's pricing lists Starter at $215 per Gearset user per month and Teams at $320. Backup is a separate clause: $2.75 per Salesforce user per month on Starter with a $275 monthly minimum, or $3.50 on Teams with a $350 minimum. Observability is $1 per Salesforce user per month with a $100 minimum. Code reviews are $160 per individual contributor per month. The page shows "$" without naming a currency.
According to the vendor's page, read 1 Oct 2026, Hutte's pricing lists Core from EUR 75 and Growth from EUR 150 per user per month, billed yearly. Core includes one project and Growth up to two; additional projects are EUR 115 per project per month.
FlowSprite AI publishes two flat prices: EUR 99 per month for Professional (10 users, 6 Salesforce connections) and EUR 199 per month for Enterprise (25 users, 20 connections).
Team one: four admins, eighty Salesforce users
Constructed for illustration: four tool users, 80 Salesforce users, two code contributors, one project, and an assumed three Salesforce connections (production plus two sandboxes).
Through Gearset Starter: 4 x $215 = $860. Backup: 80 x $2.75 = $220, which sits below the $275 minimum, so the clause bills $275. Observability: 80 x $1 = $80, below the $100 minimum, so $100. Code reviews: 2 x $160 = $320. Total: 860 + 275 + 100 + 320 = $1,555 per month.
Through Hutte Core: 4 x EUR 75 = EUR 300 per month at the "from" price, with the one project included. Through FlowSprite AI Professional: EUR 99, since four users and three connections sit inside the 10-user and 6-connection thresholds.
The minimums behave like a draw: paid whether or not usage reaches them. At 80 Salesforce users, both bind.
Team two: nine admins, three projects, three hundred Salesforce users
Also constructed: nine tool users, 300 Salesforce users, five contributors, three projects, and assumed to need Gearset Teams and Hutte Growth.
Gearset Teams: 9 x $320 = $2,880. Backup on Teams: 300 x $3.50 = $1,050, above the $350 minimum. Observability: 300 x $1 = $300. Code reviews: 5 x $160 = $800. Total: 2,880 + 1,050 + 300 + 800 = $5,030 per month.
Hutte Growth: 9 x EUR 150 = EUR 1,350 at the "from" price, billed yearly, and the third project costs EUR 115, so EUR 1,465 per month. On Core: 9 x EUR 75 + 2 x EUR 115 = EUR 905. FlowSprite AI: assuming six or fewer Salesforce connections across the three projects, nine users fit Professional at EUR 99; a seventh connection, or separation-of-duties approvals, means Enterprise at EUR 199.
The currencies differ, so these totals are not a conversion. They cover only the clauses listed: the Gearset figures include backup and observability, and Teams and Growth were assumed for scheduled deployments, rollback and pipelines; FlowSprite AI lists none of these. Gearset's totals omit its CI/CD automation, which the same pricing page, read 1 Oct 2026, lists at $550 per team per month on Starter and $1,100 on Teams. Read the slope of this Salesforce DevOps pricing instead. Both competitors were also moved up a tier by assumption between teams, but within a tier the per-user clauses grow with every person and org user; the flat clause moves only at a threshold.
What each clause of Salesforce DevOps pricing pays for
A per-user rate pays for headcount. A per-Salesforce-user clause pays for org size, a number the DevOps team does not control. A per-project fee is a threshold: free up to the included count, then EUR 115 per extra project. Per-contributor code review pays for the number of people submitting work.
The question is whether each clause pays for the behaviour the buyer wants.
Where flat Salesforce DevOps pricing fits, and where it does not
The flat clause pays for a defined process rather than a headcount. In FlowSprite AI, any AI the customer brings drafts a Salesforce metadata change, and the change lands as a GitHub pull request in the customer's private repo. Changes are tested in a sandbox first, and a human approves before anything deploys. Production is never auto-touched, and the record sits in a repo the customer owns. Professional includes unlimited changes under fair use, cross-org compare and drift detection, with a 14-day free trial and no card. At 11 users or a seventh connection the team steps to EUR 199 (Enterprise, 25 users, 20 connections); a Custom tier is also offered.
Teams that want backup and Flow error monitoring from their DevOps vendor will find Gearset sells those clauses and FlowSprite AI does not list them. Hutte's environment page, read 1 Oct 2026, offers scratch-org teams "a pool of ready-to-go orgs". Per their pricing pages, read 1 Oct 2026, Gearset and Hutte offer 30-day trials. The Salesforce DX MCP server is free and open source, per its GitHub README read 1 Oct 2026. Salesforce DevOps pricing is only one input to that choice.
What the clause does not affect
Salesforce DevOps pricing tells you what the bill grows with; it does not tell you whether changes are reviewed well. Before signing, write down the three numbers that will move in the next year: tool users, Salesforce users, projects or orgs. Run each vendor's clauses against them. The clause that binds is the one attached to the number you expect to grow.
